In advanced process fabs, EFEM (Equipment Front End Modules), wafer-handling robots, and lithography/etch tools all operate in ISO Class 1–2 ultra-clean environments. The raised floors of cleanrooms are packed with process and cooling lines — a closed space that cannot be reached for human inspection. Thermal-control cooling hoses — whether for wafer-handler liquid cooling, EFEM water cooling, or laser and power-module water loops — are the most common leak sources. A single drip can short equipment, damage expensive tools, and — worse — contaminate the cleanroom and ruin wafers. Semiconductor equipment cooling hoses must therefore be reliably sealed (zero leak) and must also be paired with leak detection sensor cables for early warning.
Mainstream leak detection cables work on a liquid-conduction principle: two insulated conductive cores are held at high impedance when dry. When the cooling medium touches the cable, the liquid forms a conductive path between the cores, and the controller detects the sudden resistance change and immediately triggers acoustic and visual alarms. The system can be tied into the plant PLC / facility-monitoring system via RS485 / Modbus, with relay outputs to close valves and start drainage. Two types are available: non-locating (2-core, region alarm, cost-effective) and locating (4-core, locating accuracy down to 0.1–0.5 m, suited for long pipe corridors). High-end versions tolerate -50℃ to 150℃ and pH 1–14, with Teflon-jacketed corrosion-resistant variants for DI water, water-glycol, and acid/alkali media.
For semiconductor equipment, we offer a single-layer clean water cooling hose: inner tube in high-purity PFA / PTFE fluoropolymer with ultra-low metallic and organic extractables, a smooth inner surface, and very low particle generation — keeping wafers clean. Working temperature range covers roughly -80℃ to +260℃, compatible with DI water and water-glycol coolants. Fittings use 316L stainless steel, combined with helium mass-spectrometer leak testing and a 5,000-cycle durability test, ensuring long-term zero leakage. Tight OD roundness and concentricity control eliminate the common fitting-leak failure mode at the material level, forming a solid base for EFEM cooling hoses and wafer-handler liquid cooling hose assemblies.
The integration principle is "the hose is the detection carrier". During installation, the leak detection cable should sit tightly against the outer surface of the semiconductor equipment cooling hose, or run along the hose path, avoiding contact with metal and never overlapping. The single-layer hose can be tied to the detection cable with clips or straps, forming a single pipe-and-detection structure. As the hose-assembly supplier, we provide standardized routing paths, fixing points, and clear OD / material parameters, making it easy for leak sensor / cable makers to select and lay out. The OEM can complete joint "hose assembly + cable routing" verification at the factory and ship with a leak alarm system that drops seamlessly into the facility-monitoring network. This is exactly where leak detection sensor compatible hose assemblies deliver value.
It can detect drips and slow seepage caused by loose fittings, stress cracking, or aged seals. Locating cables can pinpoint the leak to within 0.1–0.5 m for fast troubleshooting.
High-purity PFA / PTFE fluoropolymer is the mainstream choice, offering ultra-low extractables, low particle generation, wide temperature range, and chemical resistance — ideal for wafer-grade clean environments. 316L fittings with helium leak testing are recommended.
Keep the cable tight against the outer hose surface, run it along the hose path, avoid metal contact and crossing overlaps. Keep the cable clean and run periodic functional tests to minimize false alarms.
Yes. We supply semiconductor equipment cooling hoses, EFEM cooling hoses, and wafer-handler liquid cooling hose assemblies, and we can reserve routing and fixing points per the cable maker's specification, so the leak alarm solution ships ready out of the box.
